Dr. Paul Rondino, 66, of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away suddenly after spending a beautiful day with his wife of 34 years touring the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt on September 8th, 2025. Born in Arlington MA in 1959 he moved to Fort Lauderdale with his family in 1972. He graduated St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1977 and then attended the University of Notre Dame where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981. After graduating from Notre Dame he earned a Master’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Miami and then Medical School and graduated in 1989. He completed his Internal Medicine training in Miami in 1992 and became Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Paul completed his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago in 1995. He became Board Certified in Cardiology.
Paul began and ended his career at Broward Health North Medical Center. For close to 30 years the patients of East Broward County sought him out for Cardiology care and advice. He has cared for many of these patients For over 20 years and has served as the premier cardiologist for the Lighthouse Point community. Paul was the consummate Doctor's Doctor. If a doctor had a question or problem they went to Paul for resolution. He cared for many of the hospital staff and their families. Truly dedicated to his patients in every way, Paul developed many friendships with them over the years. In addition he served on many committees as he was recognized for his excellence by his election to the Chief of the Medical Staff in 2009.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and many friends. One of Paul’s favorite destinations was the Florida Keys, at his home in Islamorada. He enjoyed fishing, boating, snorkeling and entertaining friends on the beautiful waters. Paul was a very proud father and loved spending time with his two sons. Paul was active in the Boy Scouts of America and participated in many camp-outs and events while helping his sons attain their Eagle Scout Ranks. He loved to travel and enjoyed many trips around the world with family and friends. Paul was an avid Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan and returned to South Bend often to attend football games. He lived a life full of love and laughter and he will be greatly missed.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Liberato and Marion Rondino from Boston Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife Cynthia and sons, Louis (Madeline) of Melbourne FL and Kenneth of Denver CO, brother Brian Rondino of Atlanta, GA, sister Ellen Rondino of Tamarac FL.
